Audience wants to watch it dobara
First weekend collection from this film starring Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin came to around Rs 28 crores. Business continued to be steady even on Monday and despite heavy rains in several parts of the country, houseful boards were seen outside many theatres. The buzz about the film is positive which should ensure decent business.
On the Hollywood front, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 received an amazing response all across the world. Being the last part from the franchise, Potter fans didn't want to miss the film.
After an amazing start, business of Murder 2 dropped in second week with competition from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara . But the film still remained the second choice for most people. The collection so far ensures it is a hit. Chillar Party fizzled out in the second week however.
The coming week sees another solo release in the form of Ajay Devgn's Singham . A hardcore action film on the lines of Dabangg , Singham marks the return of Ajay Devgn in full-on action mode. Remake of Suriya's Tamil film by the same name, if the business of the South blockbuster is anything to go by, the Hindi version promises a punch at the box-office. Evidently it has strong potential for single screen audiences and should appeal to fans of masala movies.

In an interview to a daily, Katrina Kaif clarified that she never intended to hide her identity and was proud of being half Asian. The actress also went on to say that Rahul Gandhi is also half Indian, half Italian."Am I supposed to be ashamed that I am half Asian, half European? I mean, no! Rahul Gandhi is half Indian, half Italian. So? I am very proud of what I am and I just don't understand the confusion – as if I'm trying to hide the fact that my mother's British. Why would I?"
The actress who's constantly quizzed about having the surname Turquotte on her passport says, "Because people are insinuating that there is something wrong in it! Please understand that I am not – I assure you, I promise you – I am not the only half Asian half British person alive on this planet! My passport's copies are with every news channel in this country – don't ask me how they got them. Everyone has my name, which is my mother's name, on the passport."Well that solves Katrina's passport mystery once and for all!

Actors and rumoured lovers in the past, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif came face to face at a multiplex event on Kaif’s birthday recently, but as things turn out, Kapoor was not on the official guest list of theevent. In fact, no one was aware that he would be there at the same time as Kaif.
Then how did it happen? Well, Kapoor, according to sources, had bought a ‘normal ticket’ for one screen in the same multiplex concurring with Katrina’s arrival there. The time of Kaif’s arrival and Ranbir’s show timing coincided, and that’s how they came face to face.
“Ranbir was not on the guest list of the event where the film’s cast was supposed to interact with the audience at the multiplex. The event was planned weeks in advance and everybody knew when it was going to happen. Ranbir was not on the official guest list and we also hadn’t invited him separately,” said a staff member of the multiplex. An official release of the event confirmed this.
So how did Kapoor reach the multiplex exactly at the same time when Kaif was coming? Nobody seems to be aware of that, except for the fact that Ranbir had booked a ticket over the phone as he wanted to see the movie. Sadly, since all the seats in the theatre (where Katrina was coming to interact with the audience) were booked, he was given a seat in the screen adjacent to it.
“Both spotted each other, but neither greeted the other, or even made an effort. Ranbir went inside the hall and watched the movie, while Katrina left after waving and signing a few autographs. The rest of the star cast and the director were also there,” the theatre staff added.

On Birthday, Katrina's Lunch at Salman's House
Katrina Kaif who celebrated her birthday on Saturday July 16 had reportedly booked a table at a fancy Chinese restaurant near her house for dinner. Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor, Ayan Mukerjee from Wake up Sid and Salman Khan's younger sister Alvira Agnihotri were said to be present at the dinner party. After spending a part of her birthday promoting ZNMD, sources say that Kat drove to Salman's residence at Bandstand for a special birthday lunch with the Khan family.
Later in the evening, she is said to have spent time with her personal assistant Sandhya and her team planning the look test for her film Ek Tha Tiger.
I Spent My Birthday with Mom: Katrina
Refuting the media report that she spent her birthday with ex-boyfriend Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif said that her birthday was a quiet affair, and that she did not celebrate with anyone, as a mark of respect to Mumbai triple bomb blast victims and their families. Earlier, there were reports that on Saturday, the sexiest woman in India, Katrina Kaif, had shared a lunch with Salman on her birthday and dinner with Ranbir Kapoor.
Usually, her birthday celebrations have ended in controversies. In the year 2008 it was a public spat between King Khan and Salman, and this year, it is reports of her meeting Salman, and Shiv Sena slamming her for organising a birthday bash while criticising Shah Rukh Khan for attending the party and not showing respect to the Mumbai blasts victims.
Katrina Kaif reportedly told her friend that there was no birthday bash, and that she spent the day with her mother. It was a quiet day, with a dinner with her friends at a Chinese restaurant. In fact she met her 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' team on that day.
It may be recalled that she had put off her birthday celebrations after the Khan Vs Khan spat in 2008. And this year, even though she did not celebrate her birthday in a big way, it did make a big headline!
Salman Khan will be seen doing breath-taking action in 'Ek Tha Tiger'
Action is Salman Khan’s forte. Many would doubtlessly agree to that. But now, Salman is taking action and stunts to an altogether new standard with the Yashraj Films’ Ek Tha Tiger. The film, to go on the floors soon, will have Salman pairing with Katrina Kaif. But what may knock the breath out of your lungs is not Sallu’s pairing with his ex flame, but his stunts. We hear that director Kabir Khan wants to give the stunts in the film a standard at par with those of films like the Bourne series.
Which means slicker and more stylish stunts by Salman Khan. Of course, it would require the actor to be in excellent shape, but then fitness has never been an issue with the gym loving Khan. Salman already has a body worth swooning over, and he will perfect it further for Ek Tha Tiger.
The film is a thriller set in many countries. Salman will be required to shoot action and stunt sequences at various locations throughout the world.
We’re sure his fans can’t wait for this film. We can’t either.
Zoya Akhtar is planning a sequel of ZNMD
Two days ago, Zoya Akhtar's much-awaited movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) was released and now there are rumours that the ambitious director is planning to make a sequel.Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has been in news since its inception for various reasons, be it the rivalry amongst the co-stars or the much- hyped kissing scene between Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.
There was speculations that the movie was on similar lines of Dil Chahta Hai, and had to face tough competition from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. However, it still managed to get good reviews and accolades. Therefore, it is said that both Zoya and Farhan are thinking of making a sequel to it.
As Zoya has said that she would cast Hrithik in every project of hers, it is obvious that he would be a part of the sequel as well. So guys, get ready for yet another multi- starrer sequel.
Katrina, Imran to rehearse for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan gigs
As per the promotional plans for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan will join their co-star and pop sensation Ali Zafar for a live stage gig. Katrina and Imran are taking the gig very seriously as both of them will go through rigorous rehearsals before taking on the stage. Zafar confirms the news and also informs that he has been asked to help the two actors in developing skills for live stage performance. The singer-turned-actor is confident that they will give an impressive performance on stage. Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is scheduled to release on September 9.
We can say Ali is all set to make Katrina and Imran dance on his tunes!
