As we had reported earlier, Yash Chopra's next directorial venture stars the king of romance, Shahrukh Khan. Yash Chopra had earlier said that every one was aware that SRK would be involved in his projects in one way or the other, as the actor was like a family member of YRF.However, after days of media speculation, YRF has confirmed that the two ladies who will be part of this project are Katrina Kaif, who will be playing a role opposite Shahrukh for the very first time, and Anushka Sharma, who was launched in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi alongside SRK.
Directed by Yash Chopra, who is returning to movie direction after seven years, this untitled movie will mark the coming together yet again of the award winning duo A.R. Rahman and poet-lyricist Gulzar.The veteran film maker also said that he was faced with a lot of doubts as he enters film direction after a long gap. Chopra added that he was plagued with doubts whether a 80 year old film maker could a make a movie appealing to today's youth. “Can I really speak from my heart and still expect today's youth to listen to me? Will I be able to live up to the blind faith that Shahrukh Khan has in me and give him yet another memorable romantic film? Will I be able to present the beautiful Katrina Kaif and the very talented Anushka Sharma in a way they have never been seen before?Will I be able to inspire Rahman and Gulzarbhai enough to create their best work yet?" were some of the doubts raised by Yash Chopra.
The film will use YRF's trademark theme of romance, and will be promoted as a movie with an old soul but a young heart. The film is scheduled for a Diwali 2012 release, the festive time when Yash Chopra movies, over the years, have lit up homes worldwide. Bollywood and its fans worldwide are thrilled with Yash Chopra's comeback decision.
